The Zoobombs was formed by Don Matsuo, Matta, Moostop, and Pocky in Tokyo, Japan. During the first week of the bands formation they made 10 original songs. They quickly hit the live scene and began to release demo cassette tapes. In 1996, the band scored a contract with Quattro/Ricetone record label. Under this label, they released three albums. They were also featured in the New York Times as the "Japanese Next Wave".
In 1999 the band switched to Virgin/Emi Record Label. After the release of the album "New San Francisco", the band toured North America with The Flaming Lips and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. They recieved tremendous support and even won the 2nd best performance of the Canadian Music Week Festival!

Thoughts
I enjoyed listening to Zoobombs very much. Their music is an infusion of jazz and rock, with incredible energy. In addition to great music, the vocalist has a rough voice that adds an extra edge. I highly recommend this band!
