Profile
Zeni Geva was first formed in 1987 by Null, Taketani, and Mitsuru Tabata. Although the band was based in Japan, a fan base quickly grew in the states. Null met up with Jello Biafra during a tour in the states and recieved a contract offer for his band. The band debuted in the US with the song
Total Castration in 1991. In 92, the band then released the record
Nai-Ha with Steve Albini in Tokyo. The album was later rewarded as one of the best Japanese rock albums of the year! Zeni Geva continued to record tracks between the US and Japan, while touring as well. In 1995, the band then traveled to France where they toured and released the album
Freedom Bondage. Over the course of the next couple years, Zeni Geva toured all over the US, Europe, and Australia! Their last big performances were in 2002, and the band has taken a break since then. Null has continued with a solo career and has now released over 100 works in his 20 years in the music industry!
Thoughts
Zeni Geva plays very hard rock music. Its not really my style of music, but a lot of people must love it considering how popular the band is. If you are looking for songs with lots of screaming, drums, and head banging rhythms, then check them out ;) Below is a sample of the song
I Want You.
