Profile
The Yoshida Brothers are a duo of Shamisen-playing brothers from Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. Ryoichiro and Kenichi Yoshida both began playing the Tsugaru-Shamisen at a very young age.
As adults, theyve gained much critical acclaim for their musical ability as well as for their mixture of traditional Japanese music and modern sounds. The Yoshida Brothers play anything from traditional Japanese festival music to songs which are composed with modern musical progression.
Their music has reached an international audience by grace of thier signing to Domo Records, a traditional Asian music record label housing such artists as Kitaro, Rin, and Agatsuma. In America, the Yoshida Brothers have released 3 albums appropriatly titled I,II, and III.
