Profile
In 1993, Kaori Okumura, Kyoko Moriya, and Tamami Okado formed their band in Osaka, Japan. Three years later, their first album: "Fathers Golden Fish" was released. Two years later in 1998, they opened for Limp Bizkit and their first Japanese tour. Their second album, "Spot Remover" was released in both the US and Korea. The first show after this release at Shinjuku-Loft was completely sold out! The summer of 1998, they played for over 30,000 fans at the Air Jam fesitval in Japan.
A year later, 1999, they opened for S.O.D. in America and released their album "Build and Destroy". Keeping up with their trend for opening for nu-metal bands, in 2000, they opened for Slipknot on their Japanese tour February. In November Yellow Machingun was featured on S.O.D.s first world tribute album "SPEAK JAPANESE OR XXX." They played with Megadeth and Biohazard in 2001 at the Formoz festival in Taiwan for 50,000 people! Megadeth was perhaps their first real introduction to metal and they certainly learned from it. Regardlessly, I would not truly consider them metal, but neither nu-metal. So theyre a hybrid, like most bands are, of punk, hard rock, and thrash metal.

My Thoughts
This may be a real shocker to most of you, but HARSH VOCALS ARE NOT LIMITED TO MALES. This all female punk band has a lot of thrash elements, and many times they just simply play metal. Whatever youd consider them, the female vocalist does harsh vocals and it proves that women can enjoy harsh vocals as much as the male metalhead counterparts.
They have done wonders in promoting and easing females into liking harsh vocals in metal, and I think they deserve a lot of credit for that. They are not the first, mind you, but theyre one of the best female bands with harsh vocals. Although I must admit, I only came by them while searching for the Sex Machineguns.
