Relatively new, Yellow Cherry is a 3-member group consisting of DJ Yama, R-MAN, the MC, and Yass, another MC.Yama, the leader of the group initially started by DJ’ing at high schools in the Aomori Prefecture. The founder, though, was R-MAN, who did solo permormances since ‘99 until he joined up with Yama and Yass. And it is R-MAN who does most of the reggae-ish parts in their songs. Yass, is the member who does some of the ukulele parts in the songs along with the hip-hop parts for he was a former rapper.
The ba;nd made its major debut in 2004 with the album 4U. Since then, they have released a mini album and second major album.

Thoughts
Yellow Cherry is off to a great start. Their music has a fresh reggae/hip-hop feel to it. The vocals are quite good too. I think my favorite song is "Ippome". Definitely check out this new band.Click to read/add your opinion!
