WRONG SCALE is a pop-punk band with a history that is almost as unique as their sound. Offering emotional melodies with multiple vocalists and an impressive ability for musical arrangement, WRONG SCALE was quickly signed to the AARON FIELD indie label after forming. The band’s first official release turned out to be a split album "DRAW THE SCALE" with labelmates S*CREATERS, who then went on to contribute to the band’s first solo release "Effort for Scale". Soon after the release of "Effort for Scale", in 2002, the band released their first maxi-single "END OF PAIN". Keeping a steady pace, WRONG SCALE pushed out their second full-length album "Upstairs for bed" in 2003. While touring in support of this album, the band even had the opportunity to play with the American band The Ataris. However, after this, it would become a period of transisition as WRONG SCALE moved to the K-PLAN record label and picked up guitarist/vocalist Toshinari Oonishi to fill out their sound even more. Their introduction to their new label began almost exactly as their old one did with the release of the split-album "NightInGale" with the band HOLSTEIN in 2004. Releasing "Triangle to Square" in 2005, the critically-acclaimed album marked a new idenitity for WRONG SCALE. Since then, the band has resumed their steady pace, releasing their third full-length album "Fate Effects the Surface" in 2006 and their fourth full-length "Bed and Board" in 2007.

Thoughts

I was very pleased when I listened to WRONG SCALE. They have a great rock sound similar to bands like Asian Kung-Fu Generation. The vocals in this band really highlight the sensual side of the lyrics featured in their songs. I highly recommend this band!
