Profile

World’s End Girlfriend was created by Katsuhiko Maeda. He gained an interest in music around the age of 10 while listening to his father’s classical music collection. By the age of 12, he was already composing hundreds of tracks with various instruments. He first debuted in 1998 as WEG with the compilation album "City of Trance (Trip Trap)". Shortly afterwards, World’s End Girlfriend released the EP "Sky Short Story". It wasn’t until the second album "Farewell Kingdom" though that the band really became successful. The album was later released in Europe, Taiwan, and Hong Kong! World’s End Girlfriend also had a track that was put on a compilation album by the UK company Pussyfoot.

My Thoughts

WEG is a rather odd band. I would categorize him as a noise artist. The songs usually lack a general chorus or melody. In addition, he likes to use electronic and natural sounds randomly throughout his songs. Its less annoying than other noise bands out there.
