Versailles is a Visual Kei band founded by Kamijo (ex Lareine, vocal) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid, guitar) and officially began activities on June of 2007 with their first live. They are signed to Kamijo’s label, Sherow Artist Society. Jasmine You (ex Jakura, bass)and Yuki (ex Sugar Trip, drums) joined the band. Teru (ex Aikaryu guitarist) officially joined the following month. It was during their first live they sold their first single and DVD, "The Revenant Choir".

Their first mini album, titled "Lyrical Sympathy", was released on October 31, 2007 though Kamijo’s label. An European version was also released through the German label CLJ Records, which contained an extra DVD. On December 12, Versailles released a DVD titled "Aesthetic Violence" in 5 different versions with a different perfume scent by each of the members.

Versailles has held many live events along with Hizaki’s own band, Hizaki Grace Project, Juka, and Kaya. The band aims to reach at fans worldwide with the help of the internet and hopes to perform overseas in 2008.

Thoughts

Despites the band’s recent formation, they have received quite an amount of attention, and I personally find them to be quite talented. Hizaki and Kamijo’s style clash into a classic/metal concept. All the members have improve quite a bit from their past activities, making Versailles’ music simply magnificent.
