V6 debuted on the Japanese charts in 1996 with its Greeting LP, recorded for Avex Trax. Their second album, Nature Rhythm, followed suit in 1997. The "V" in their name is said to either mean "volleyball" or "victory", but in reality, it is said to mean "veteran". And there are 6 members of the group, thus making V6.

Masayuki Sakamoto is the leader. Originally he was in a group named "Heike". The others include Hiroshi Nagano, Yasuhiko (originally of SMAP), Morita, Miyake Ken, and Okada. It first started out as three, then the next year, the other three joined.

And to add onto their musical abilities, they have been in movies.

Thoughts

V6 totally rocks! They are a bit like NSYNCH in that they sing together a lot and have a lot of correagraphed dances. Their songs are super catchy though and they have been incredibly successful. They have done openings for animes, dramas, and have starred in movies! Feel Your Breeze is the outro theme for the drama Gokusen season 1. In addition, Change the World was the intro theme to the anime Inuyasha! Please enjoy the samples! You will get hooked ;)
