Profile

UVERworld formed in 2003 and they released a demonstration CD which sold 3,000 copies. In 2004, they had a performance (although where is beyond me) and it was sold out. Although that may not seem like too much, the next year, 2005, came their big break. They had gained some popularity with concerts, but their new popularity has been because their song, "D-technolife" has found its way on the air as Bleach’s second opening!

It’s also nice to note that their name may have a few meanings. We all know of the german word "uber", which, if my German doesn’t fail me, is pronounced much like "over". Combined the two words, and BAM! Uver. That’s my interpretation. Even a rough translation of their main page biography claims this to be so. Although, a rough translation of their page also makes you believe they pronounce it "woo bar". Whatever their name means, they have a new single in the works by the name of "Chance!".

Thoughts

It’s always nice, but somewhat challenging to evaluate new bands. UVERworld is what I would regard as an undeclared band. Their opening to Bleach, D-Technolife, is a awesome rock song! However, as you’ll find when you listen to the songs below that some of their other songs border on rap and hip-hop. I think the band is still working on their style overall, but what they have produced so far is very promising! Give this new band a try!
