Profile

After a 1986 meeting in Tokyo, the guys became a band in 1987. They fashioned their sound along the lines of melodic pop rock groups like the Beatles. Issuing their debut album, SPITZ, in 1991, the band went unnoticed for several years, but became very popular in 1995 with the release of their 11th singles Robinson and 6th album Hachimitsu. Over their 15 years together, they have released 30 singles and 15 full and mini albums.

Thoughts

Spitz is such a great band, but for a while no one had a clue who these guys were. I started listening to Spitz about 2 years ago when the song "Stargazer" was the theme song for the Fuji TV reality show Ainori. The sound of the acoustic guitar combined with the vocals of Kusano Masamune caught my attention and from there I wanted to hear more of their songs.
