Profile

Shakkazombie is a Japanese rap group consisting of three members (MC Osumi, Tsutchie, and MC Hide-Bowie). They formed in 1994 when Tsutchie joined Osumi and Hide-Bowie who were already making music at the time and released their first single "ShakkAttack" in 95. They are credited for introducing many up and coming artists in their collaborations, which includes Michico.

In North America, they’re most known for their song "Shiroi Yami No Naka". They are also popular for their song "Sora" used in the Cowboy Bebop Episode "Session XX". The group has received praise for their diverse lyrical style. It wasn’t until their album "Journey of Foresight" that they introduced the usage of the piano.

My Thoughts

Shakkazombie is one of those bands that has a only few great hits. The ones below are about it. Perhaps their most famous and best song is "Shiroi Yami no Naka". It has a great beat and good lyrics. Their other songs focus mostly around just the vocals. There is minimal amount of background melody to support their songs, so they come as very blah.
