Profile
ROVO was first formed in the late 90s by the two main members of the group Yuji Katsui, who has been heavily involved in the Japanese underground music scene since the 80s, and Seiichi Yamamoto, former guitarist and founding member of the well-known Japanese avant-garde/experimental rock group Boredoms. After these two joined forces, it was only a matter of time before all of the other members were recruited. This could be considered a side-project for all the members though, seeing as how they all have ties to other bands. However, they have still been able to make quite a number of releases and is well-regarded in terms of their lives. Their music could be described as a wide mix of many different genres from many different ethnic backgrounds, ranging from techno/trance to jazz/progressive rock. However, the overall sound of the music generally leans towards a more dance-oriented minimalistic rock.

Thoughts
ROVO is an interesting band. You cant pin their music to one genre because it is so experimental. Some music has elements of trance, while others will repeat the same melody over and over again. It is very unusual, and will keep a listeners interest.
