Profile
This five member J-Hip Hop groups name is derived from the nicknames of three of the members and a popular toy at the time -two members joined later on-. The "R" is from Ryo-z, "I" is from Iimari, and "P" is from Pes and the popular toy in question would be "Slyme". The group consists of 4 MCs and a DJ.
Starting back in 1994, it was initially just Ryo-Z and Iimari. They had big dreams but it didnt become recognized until they teamed up with Pes and two of his friends, winning a popular rapping contest "Young MCs in Town" the same year. And with this, their popularity began.
Today, they still have a wide influence in the entertainment and clothing business with Ryo-z even finding the group Halicali. Despite the fact that some of them are married, they are still together and just recently, the group was chosen to sing the theme song for the 2006 movie "The Mamiya Brothers".

Thoughts
Rip Slyme is an okay band. Their music is innovative and fun to listen to. The vocals are definitely lacking though. If the vocals were a bit better, then Rip Slyme would be fantastic.
