Review

VENOM is Hora’s (ex-Schwarz Stein, Velvet Eden) 3rd full length alum, and first purely instrumental. As he stated in his last interview with us, the theme of Venom from his dark side. He chose the word "VENOM" as the word that showed his darkness. Although this is his first purely instrumental album, it has nearly sold out, and captivated many world wide. Many of Hora’s song during his solo career have been instrumental, and can be said to be the background melody for any occasion. From A moment of pure Joy, to the deepest feeling of depression, Hora can give it a tune. Here’s what I though of each song.

New Skin is a fantastic opening song. It gives you the feeling of birth, new life, while at the same time, holds a strong feel of sadness.

AINS5, one of my favorite tracks from the album. It starts with a light sound of sweet pad, slowly turning into this amazing combination of electronic music. Hora mixed this one with great care.

VENOM depict great sorrow with a peaceful melody. To fully enjoy and understand this song, you must surrender your ears and all other senses to it.

PATH OF DARKNESS is the song for mayhem and all sinful action. Great music, but a tad short.

REJECT is a very intense song that yells "denial" and "betrayal" in your ear. Good song, but a little repetitive.

DIGNITY What a man feels when he has too much dignity. This song holds a strong theme for decorum. In this song you can hear Hora’s famous distorted voice in the background. Unfortunately, his words aren’t understandable, nor are there any lyrics to it, but goes great with the song.

TRANSONICA is the song of pure happiness and pleasure. It begins with a rough beat of techno music, that turns into an aggressive collection of synth that leaves you wanting more.

GREED is the song for mischief. As one of the 7 deadly sins, this song is the background melody to such state, and the ignorance of anyone who has too much greed. It’s very nicely arranged and hold on to it’s dark theme.

VEIN is another happy song, but somehow it include a feeling of downfall. The beats are a bit simply, but none the less it’s still a good one to listen to. Can’t help to tap my feet.

INNER ELEMENT -FLOOD- is a remix to ’INNER ELEMENT’, featured on first full length album, "THE WORLD". This mix starts with a heavier sound than the original, much louder and rougher, but still maintains a feeling of harmony.

RESTORATION is the theme for the aftermath, what happens after the storm. Very calm and delicately composed.

I’m someone who really appreciates synthesis and instrumental music, and Hora is one of my top inspiration. His music can make different people feel so many different things. That is why I recommend this to any Schwarz Stein fan, or classical music fanatic.
