Review
Squall - Geez. This song just seems so different then the rest of their stuff, but maybe that is just me. It is a good different though dont get me wrong. Hizumi does an amazing job just like always on the vocals. He seems to fit into whatever the four of them put out there. The bass, and rhythm line are great. Good job Tuskasa, and Zero! And then there is Karyu, the lone guitar player... hes just awesome.
DESERT - Opening guitar catches you right away, and the scream is just out there. I at first had to check my music player to see if I was still listening to Despa, because Hizumi had obviously learned a new way of screaming, or something! Hes got some pipes, and they should be listened too! Personally this is the track I found the best listen. Its heavy in all the right places, and is something that should be listened to on the biggest set of speakers you can find.
Screen - This is the longest track on the single, and opens with a light sound, with Hizumis voice in it. Again its very slow, and its hypnotizing this one! Almost 1:30 a beat cuts into the music too, and its like a metronome of some sort. Gosh, its addicting just to hear it. Piano is added at about 2 minutes, but its not over done. #:#0 the song dies down for a few seconds to a watery/tinny noise, and then it starts up to what it was before again. The vocals in this song are increasable emotional. This song is perfect for those times you just want to sit with some calming music on your headphones.
Whats this? Two of the three songs are nice, and calming, and slower paced?! Thats right, and its wonderful! Despairs Ray just continues to amaze us with their talent, dont they? They have an amazing way of putting their music across, and should be recognised for that. The emotion that they throw behind everything makes their music very compelling. I recommend the entire single.
