Review

Well, here we have Miyavi’s full length album Miyavizm, and it didn’t score an 8 out of 10 for nothing. The album begins with a piece of good old rock and roll, that quite frankly leaves the listener yearning for more. From there the album sticks mainly to new age sounding rock and roll with songs such as BibaBibaBepop, and Koi wa Pushphone.

As the album progresses, you get to see just how much Miyavi’s improved from his previous albums. Songs like Aho Matsuri and Papamama Nozomare nu Baby will leave you on the edge of your seat eagerly awaiting the next track yet at the same time, not wanting the next one to come due to sheer enjoyment of the current song.

The album also has a secret track that features the acoustic guitar, and a light sad melody that really fits well as an ending to the album.

One problem with the cd however was that it wasn’t long enough. It’s only about an hour long, and the secret track is sheer silence for several minutes (thank god for fastfoward). The album just leaves a little more to be desired, perhaps a track or two.

Over all, I’d say Miyavizm is worth every penny. It’s a definite pickup for older and newer Miyavi fans alike.
