Review
Getting a hold of this album wasnft easy, and I wasnft entirely disappointed. Necrophilia is a Japanese thrash metal band, which is all you need to know, right? Well, overall theyfre not bad, but therefs still some improvement to be made. Fans of Japanfs earlier, harder, brutal thrash metal would love Necrophilia, but this band isnft good enough to beat out any greats. The length is also pitiful for an album, but I figured it would make up for it somewhere along the line. The vocals are typically clean, hitting higher notes most often found in Pierrotfs singing, with added harsh vocals, which sound more like screaming. Slightly more refined than such, so I count them as harsh vocals. Granted, the singer can hit some notes really well, but those notes are few and rare. His voice does tend to fit the music more often than not, luckily. Their lyrics however, are almost all in Japanese, with random English phrases here and there, so I canft really rate them.
The guitar work focuses less on melody and more on fast paced riffs, which are usually very good. The solos, however, tend to be just random shredding with barely any feel of the song in it. That loses points. The drumming is good and tends to be unique and specific to each song. A decent album, in my opinion, but itfs not worth buying. You might as well give it a listen, though. If you like it, then buy it. Ifm rather certain theyfre visual kei as well.
