Overview
First off, Aikaryu is a visual kei metal band. Their songs tend to use a variety of clean vocals, mostly generic, as well as high pitched and low pitched harsh vocals. And can’t forget the melody! This release is a single called "Shiri Shiri Shiri Shiri Shiri Shiri Shiri Shiri Shiri ~Kyuuketsu~". "Shiri" means "buttocks", and it is used 9 times. It’s a pun on "kyuuketsu", which means "blood-sucking". "Kyu" means "nine", whereas "ketsu" can also mean "buttocks". So, "kyuketsu" can also mean "nine buttocks", which is exactly what the "shiri" are as well. Interesting name, but this release is far from a lot of ass. Released 2005.
Review
The style of music is melodic power/speed metal and it’s done with some very unique riffs and guitar solos. Perhaps the only problem is a couple riffs are recycled, but it’s still very good overall. The deep clean vocals in "Kyuketsu ~ " are very generic, but even so they’re still good. The harsh vocals range from a high pitched scream which sounds good, but doesn’t sound very professional, to low pitched death vocals. Although it’s a single, it’s barely over 10 minutes long. The lyrics are in Japanese for the first two songs, and the last song is a mix, I believe, with the English lyrics being nothing horrd (although it’s about vampires). The songs mix a well and unique balance of each syle of vocals as well as melodic and are well worth listening to.

Song Review
1. Aho Majou Dorakyura - 7.5/10
This is a short instrumental song which features wind blowing, wind pipes, some drumming (ranging from snare to bass, with some cymbols thrown in), as well as some synthes keyboards. It’s not bad overall. Ends with a nice finale.
2. Kyuuketsu ~uruwashiki nanji no chi~ (blood sucking ~your beautiful blood~) - 9/10
This song starts very well with drum rolls and great guitar work. The deep clean vocals lead the song for quite a while in which he switches to a much higher pitched layered voice, then some punk vocals thrown in with the high-pitched harsh vocals in a chorus. It then slows down for a bit of the melody to flow through and then breaks into a pretty good guitar solo. It would do She-Ja proud.
3. Zodiac Pain - 9.5/10
Much unlike their earlier song, this is done in a very death metal style. Bass guitar and bass drums, low pitched guitars with good riffs. The death vocals are done rather well, but then comes some.... rapping? What the hell? That does last for too long, but the guitar work makes it worth it. The generic vocals mic with some punk vocals, then some high pitched harsh. The best part would probably be the soft, very visual kei kei Kagrra/Pierrot feel vocals that are added in, which are probably the best in the single. The punk/high pitched chorus say "Zodiak Pain", if you didn’t know. Overall, this song is very good, but it needs more death vocals and less punk vocals, but it does end in a unison singing with death vocals and the Kaggra-esque clean vocals, and the timing is done icnredibly well.
