Review
Kimi no Machi Made has two tracks and released after Kimi Tsunagi Five M, their first full length album. Also, Kimi no Machi Made was on the album Sol-fa, which in America, is their most successful album. This single has two songs, Kimi no machi made and Hold me Tight. The Cover art of this single is simply, the best. The girl, in a way, embodies what Ajikan is. It is a good single for its time released. Ajikans fame was growing and their were really coming out of their indie times. The video of Kimi no Machi made is a bit humourous and also well played out.
Track Listing
1. Kimi no Machi Made
This is the actual single. The video is of synchronized swimmers and has some subtle humour such as Kita having braids while photographing the girls. Also, they are all judged and their seriousness makes the PV funny. The actual song itself could be called "Filler". The song is not at all bad, but this would not be the first song of Ajikan that one should hear. It may actually discourage the people and turn them away. The song has a calm beginning that gradually picks up speed. When Gotoh starts singing, the song becomes a little repetitive. As the song progresses, much of the harmony is repeated. This song is 3:35 minutes and much of it is spent in repetition.
Rating [7/10]
2. Hold me Tight
This song was actually on their indie works, Im Standing Here. They remade it and Gotoh redid his vocals. Also, the guitar was redone very well. The songs begins with their English singing. Also, Kitas back vocals are noticable. Then the guitar takes command. The English takes some time to understand, but together with the music, it makes for a good song. It also has a very indie feel to it. Almost towards the end of the song, the song begins to have a reggae feel to it. Then, Gotoh begins singing in Japanese with a very reggae feeling to it. The back vocals are still heard and together they sound very tamed and very in unison. This song, slightly longer than the other, may be one of the only songs that sounds better than the actual single song itself.
Rating: [8/10]
