Overview

Everybody who knows Japan, knows Bow Wow. There's seriously nothing more to it. But Bow Wow has been around for 30 years and, although they had a brief pause, restarted the group not long after. This is their 2005 release, Era.

Review

Their musical style is heavy metal, and even after 30 years they play the same kickass style of music. They're never ones to disappoint. The vocals are the same as usual, which is always a good thing! It's a typical length, so that's all good. As for the lyrics, they're also quite awesome when it comes to heavy metal. Most heavy metal sing about love, or just metal in general. Well, they kick it to an entirely new level. The songs don't change style much, but they do all have kickass high-pitched solos as well as some strangely amuzing distortion. This album is absolutely a must for any heavy metal fan!

Song Review

1) Fallen Angel - 9/10
This track is overall amazing. Nothing more truly needs to be said.

2) The Deal - 8/10
I really like how they introduce this track, and it's amazing. Nothing beats a skilled solo at the beginning of the song. The sound of this song feels exactly like it should and fits the lyrics almost perfectly.

3) 'Till The Break Of Day - 7.5/10
It's easy to see where the 70's influences come from in this song, and in most of their songs. Great lyrics, great song. Great riffs.

4) Can't Stop Now - 8.5/10
Another nice introduction with another typical 70's sound. The lyrics seem typical to me, but it does well in the music as well as the kickass solo. Can you also say great bassline? Hell yeah!

5) Rock Me - 8.5/10
Typical lyrics, but awesome sound. Excellent song. Enough said.

6) Rock'N'Roll Swindler - 9/10
I love this song. It mixes the typical heavy metal sound with some thrashy, speed elements as well as amazing solos and lyrics (in Japanese!). What else do you need?

7) Tycoon - 8/10
One of the longer songs on the album and doesn't disappoint, but I wouldn't assumed you'd expect it to.

8) Liars - 9/10
Riffage to the extreeeeeeme. The lyrics have a humor to them which ultimately add to the great style of this song. I love the bass.

9) One Way Love - 9/10
This song starts off beautifully. Most of the songs have had a kickass feel, but this song is much more of a ballad. It's still absolutely great, though!

10) Hands Up - 8.5/10
And then the final track is not one to disappoint. Gone is the ballad from above and replaced with an even more thrashy feel. This song is amazingly groovy.
