Alright, this is a twelve track CD so I’m not about to walk you through song by song, however, I will say that this is amazing. 12012’s latest singles haven’t impressed me as much as their older music, and I was nearly getting bored of them, sad to say. They’re one of my first bands, and I do love them to pieces, but that’s the cold hard truth.I think just by listening to the first track, Mr. Liar, you get a feel for the whole CD. It’s a great opener really. The song, for anyone I’ve talked to about it, has made him or her laugh. Wataru’s English, though you can understand it, is still hysterical. That really puts you in the mood for the rest of the CD. Now, this is not to say the only reason to listen is the vocalists English because there is a huge diversity when it comes to their music, and this CD wraps it all up for you.
There are slower type songs for anyone who prefers these. Empire of the Lagoon is actually an incredible song. I found myself, while walking home from work in the quiet snow, really getting into it. It’s one of those songs that you don’t even have to know what it means to still ‘feel’ while listening to it.
One of my favourite songs on Diamond was DISPUTE. It’s loud, and you get really powerful vocals on this track. The guitar is great also, however, my favourite part was just hearing the bass lines mixed with the drums. They stood out to me for some reason or another.
Overall, I would say that it’s great to have 12012 at their best. They’ve had some problems recently, but everything is resolved, a great album was released. I would defiantly recommend this CD to most people because of how many different kinds of music they throw into their songs.
