You can't go wrong with the Asian Kung-fu Generation. Enough said.
Review
This is the AKFG's most avant-garde and progressive release to date. Before, they were simply the best rock band I knew of. They're becoming more metal, but I don't expect them to be. Either way, each song is unique in its own way, although Toenai Sakana isn't so much. Gotou's vocals are the same; at times he seriously puts his heart into them. Amazing single, and I hope their upcoming album can live up to it.
Track Listing
1) Blue Train - 9.5/10
This is what the single's about. It's just pure awesomeness. The drumming reminds me of the heavy metal gods, Loudness, but clearly have a different sound (considering one's rock and the other's metal). Heavy snare drum and bass drum influence.
2) Road Movie - 8/10
Very good song all around. The hi-hat is very prevalent as well as the snare and the guitar work is very artistic, much like Blue Train. This one sounds the most like Blue Train, which is easily a very good thing.
3) Tobenai Sakana - 7/10
The most unique part of this song is the guitar work, which is truly a unique part of all these songs. The bass guitar is more prevalent, however. This song has heavy cymbals and snare, making the background rather nice.
4) Gekkou -8.5/10
This is a truly unique song to the AKFG. It starts with a keyboard intro and some synths, which I don't recall being in any other AKFG song. The drumming, although it's repetitive, is very fitting to the music.
