Review

L'Arc~en~Ciel released an awsome CD, just not in the right order. The CD starts off with New World, my personal favorite, and continues with a sort of energetic feeling but after a track or 2 the mood changest dynamically. There was one track that suprised me and may suprise others. AS ONE has a very hard rock/metal feel to the song, contrasting to the usual energetic to soft flow of the CD.

Track Listing

1. New World [4:06] - 10/10
My favorite song off of the album. Every instrument, including vocals, has it's own feel and sound. Perfect start to the album.

2. LOST HEAVEN [4:35] - 9/10
It starts off with a very upbeat, twangy sounding guitar but is later taken over by the bass, which seems to have taken the lead part in this song.

3. Jojoushi [5:09] - 7/10
This song reminds me of the power ballads most bands released back in the 80s.

4. TRUST [4:28] - 6/10
A very sad feeling song and then it quickly escalates halfway into the song.

5. Killing Me [4:01] - 8/10
The song that ends the short 2 song sad slump. A toe tapper. The guitar solo before the flanger effect is very fitting for the song.

6. AS ONE [3:44] - 4/10
A very metal/hard rock feeling song. Very odd for them to have put it in with all these songs.

7. My Dear [5:09] - 8/10
Another sad song in the album. The first half or third of the song is pure vocals and the instruments slowly pick up. It sort of escalates and then dies off

8. EXISTENCE [4:08] - 8/10
Another metal sounding song. Not as dark as the other one. In the middle of the song it becomes instrumental with some creepy female voice saying something. It's not as suprising as AS ONE because it's set after a sad song and it seems to fit into place.

9. Jiyuu e no Shotai [3:59] - 10/10
Very very catchy song. The song brings the CD out of the sad feeling. The drumming to the song is incredible in the beginning.

10. Ophelia [5:09] - 8/10
Has a very jazzy sound. The song is dominated by the bass and piano, but you can still hear the drums and some sort of stringed instrument.

11. Hoshizora [5:36] - 9/10
A very mellow song in the beginning. He sings English rather clearly in this song. The song quickly escalates into some sort of powerful feel.

12. twinkle,twinkle [5:12] - 8/10
I don't know why but this song has a very "good-bye" feel to it. I almost feel like it really is saying good bye. Very fitting for the last track. Not as bass dominated as the other tracks, which is rather refreshing.
