Nana Kitade's first album including her debut song "Kesenai Tsumi" and her recent "Kiss or Kiss"

Review

After being given the assignment to review this album I was glad to listen to somebody new, who I thought I had never heard before. After the first song finished I was suprised to hear a familiar beat and after thinking on it noticed it was "Kesenai Tsumi" the opening theme for anime Fullmetal Alchemist. Being her first cd I was suprised by how much variety, and quality was put into it. Songs like "Pureness" and "Kesenai Tsumi" really stand out and rank in my favorites of the cd. The album stays at a pretty solid soft rock/pop feeling to it, never getting overly heavy or too cutesy. She has alot of potential and room to grow with this album serving as something to wet our appetites until we can get more . Nana Kitade is a refreshing and relatively new artist who I look forward to listening more of.

1. Kiss or Kiss (3:57) - 9/10
A good start to the cd. This track is upbeat and poppy with a pretentious feel to it.

2. Kesenai Tsumi (4:14) - 10/10
A great song which is slightly sad in sound and lyrics which is greatly contrasted with the fast beat.

3. Rasen (4:09) - 7/10
Starts off slow but pays off once the first chorus hits overall it is just okay.

4. Pureness (3:48) - 10/10
This song rocks, keeping a continuous fast rhythm and a beat which will get stuck in your head long after you've finished listening to it.
5. HOLD HEART (3:59) - 7/10
A song that is so-so, I didn't find it especially good nor did I find it bad.

6. Alice (4:45) - 8/10
A soft and slow song which remains slow throughout its entirety. I don't really find Kitada's voice soothing but think she did a good job of making this a relaxing and slow song.

7. Kanashimi no Kizu (4:24) - 7.5/10
The way Kitade sings the chorus of this song sounds a bit forced, as if she really isn't used to singing that way. This doesn't exactly effect the song much, it just seems a bit awkward at points.

8. Utareru Ame (4:00) - 8/10
The beat is good and the vocals seem rather emotional, only real complaint is that she seems to try to go a bit too high.

9. Fake (4:28) - 8/10
A lot like "Utareru Ame" excepts much more upbeat.

10. Shunkan (4:54) - 10/10
A soft song which Nana sings skillfully and keeps in her comfortable range. A Relaxing edition to the mostly upbeat and fast paced cd.

11. Eighteen Sky (4:16) - 8.5/10
A sweet and slower song which brings the album to a close nicely.
