Profile
Quruli was founded in 1996 with Shigeru, Masashi and Mori: playing vocals/guitar, bass, and drums respectively. The name Quruli was taken from a sign in a Kyoto subway station. As an indies band they released their first work: "Moshi Moshi" which was limited to 1,000 copies. Months later they released their second indies work "Fandelia". After signing to a major label they released their first major single: "Tokyo".
Quruli went on to release their first major album, "sayonara stranger" and continued putting out more singles and albums. They added the second guitarist, Tasshin Omura before producing "The World Is Mine" in 2001. Their drummer Mori left in 2002. Quruli also did a soundtrack for the film "Joze to Tora to Sakana-tachi". Later the band recruited Christopher McGuire to play the drums and did the album "antenna" with him in 2004. He then left after the album tour was over.
Recently Quruli has put out 3 singles each month in the fall/winter of 2005 with their latest album "Nikki" hitting shelves in December with mixed reactions from Quruli fans. They have not found a permanent drummer since.
Quruli play lives but prefers not to be on television. They have only made two preformances so far.
To describe Qurulis sound in a few words or genre is impossible. Though i feel they have music in their own genre, most of their works can be described as simple rock most of the time with some electronic influence. Each album takes a new spin on a new genre but their core remains evident in each album. From the more electric "The World Is Mine" to the old rock style of "Nikki" and everything in between anyone can find something to like in Qurulis vast sound library.

Thoughts
Quruli is quite good! Their songs have a lot of variety and are quite unique. Their music tends to vary from ballads, to psychedelic 70s style songs, to punk rock. Its a strange mixture, but works really well for them.

Quruli is an excellent band with alot of variety. Having a lot of alterations in styles of choice they remain excellent. Alot of cute happy songs and songs for every mood you might have Quruli really has alot of talent. Kishidas vocals are simple and very soft and nice in some songs. Their talent with a wide use of instruments also make them a great band to listen to instead of a typical guitar rock band. Very much recommended!!!
