Profile
In 1992, Yusuke Gotoh (better known as Dada from Velvet Eden) and Atshushi Fukuyama formed Pride of Mind (A visual kei/darkwave band) after being in another band together. Fukuyama was the creator, and guiding hand behind Pride of Mind, being a big fan of 80s music. In 1993, Yusuke left, and Masaki Haruna filled his place. Also in 1993, Vintage released an omnibus with one of Pride of Minds songs on it. From there, the band became more famous, and started work on their first album.
In 1994, came Pride of Minds first demo-tape. It contained four tracks. Shortly after, they appeared on an Image Sonic omnibus, and then they released their second demo-tape, as well as making a live VHS. Only 100 copies are known to exist. By this time, Pride of Mind had a cult following in the underground scenes of Japan.
As 1995 rolled in, Pride of Mind finally released what its fans had long awaited: an album. The album is titled "Systems of Romance" (from an UltraVox song, apparently). The album was released on SongBird Label, and was a very excellent piece that contained 10 tracks, and showed the depth and talent of the bands ability to create music. In March 25, 1996, Atsushi released a 2 track demo tape in an attempt to revive the band, which featured Yusuke Gotoh, later E-Typ and Velvet Eden (Dada). Shortly after, in 1996, Pride of Mind announced that they would be disbanding.
Pride of Mind was the first Visual Kei band to successfully introduce electronics, yet remain true to the verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/ chorus structure of Visual Kei. They became a milestone for other Visual electronic bands such as Velvet Eden, and Schwarz Stein.

Thoughts
If you are a first time listener of Pride of Mind, you might want to start by listening to The Sky Was Blue. Klahas vocals, even though not fantastic, i thought his voice were good. They might not be the best Visual Kei band in history but they are a good band worth reccommending.
