Profile

Possibility was formed in Fujisawa, 1999. A year later they began to move around, playing at nightclubs in Yokohama and Tokyo. In addition to their performances, the band also began to work on a demo tape which would be released the following year. With their impressive collection of songs, Possibility soon had a music contract with an indies music label.

After the release of their first single "Possibility", the band went on a nation tour, hitting Shibuya, Fujisawa, Sendai, Kyoto, and Osaka. Their successful performances led to the release of a mini album "Thanks Giving Day" and another national tour that same year!

Once they got started, Possibility continued to become more successful. Their second single "Mornin’" ranked high on Oricon’s independent music chart for six weeks straight. Other releases like "Helianthus" and "Now or Never" ranked in the top 6 on Oricon’s independent music charts. Possibility also began to take more of an interest in music festivals like MONSTER BaSH and JAPAN CIRCUIT.

In February 2007, the band’s hard work finally payed off and they made their major debut with the single "Name/Runner". A week after its release the band went on a national tour set to include 23 performances.

Thoughts

Possibility is a high energy band that blends rock and elements of hip hop into their songs. In some ways the songs almost seem rushed to me. The vocalists either can’t convey the lyrics well or can’t always keep up with the tempo of the songs. Their background music seems decent. I think if they slowed down the tempo a bit, the songs would sound much better and work well for the vocalists.
