Origa, whose real name is Olga Vitalevna Jakovleva, was born on October 12, 1970 in Novosibirsk, Russia. She is a Russian singer. She visited Japan in 1991 after she graduated from music school the year before. In 1993, she eventually got a contract with Road & Sky Organization and has since involves in various projects with artists to the Radio Japan Series. She was also part of the chorus for the Kobe earthquake disaster charity single.Olga’s debut album was Origa in 1994, which was released in Russian and Japan. The album had mediocre success. She has released seven solo albums, two mini albums and three singles as of in 2005. However, with the release of the theme song from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, her popularity eventually gained outside of Japan and Russia. She also sang Rise from Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG opening theme song, which is the second season of the anime. She continued performing songs for animes series such as Mizu no Madoromi, which is the ending song for Fantastic Children. Origa has had massive success on both Russian and Japanese Charts.

Thoughts
Origa has an awesome voice. Its really sad that her PR people dont know what they are doing because her popularity could actually surpass her affiliation with Ghost in the Shell. Not to mention she’s not a bad writter. I really do beleive that Inner Universe showcased her nicley toned voice. Her range is endless and her voice control is almost etheral. Origa is definatly a sleeper that everyone should go out and support.Click to read/add your opinion!
