Profile
Namie Amuro, born September 20, 1977 , is a Japanese "idol" or sorts. Originally from Naha, Okinawa is a quarter Italian. She got her start in 1992 when she was in a girl group (of classmates) named SUPER MONKEYS. It wasnt until the release of "TRY ME ~Watashi wo Shinijite~" (1995), that really jumpstarted her career. She left the group the same year and with the help of producer Tetsuya Komuro, Namie would go on to become a sensation. Even after a decade of performing, she continues to be one of Japans biggest pop acts.
Recently, it was announced that she would contribute to the Japanese theaterical release of the American motion picture adaptation of the "Sin City" movie.

Thoughts
Namie Amuro is another infamous jpop idol. Her voice has a rough edge to it that you can hear in songs like
Come. Other songs like
Lovin It seem to cover this up with other vocals and background music. Her vocals are not spectacular, but her music is very well composed and enjoyable to listen to. Below are some samples to try :)
