Profile
Moi dix Mois is a solo project by Mana, which he formed on 19 October 2002, ten months after the disbandment of Malice Mizer. The bandfs sound is very close to his former band which includes harpsichord, electric guitar and fast heavy drumming. The lyrics which Mana wrote for Moi dix Mois are more personal and deeper in meaning.
The first concert that Moi dix Mois played, Invite to Immortality Tour, was outside Japan in March 2005. It was held in Munich and Paris after which the bandfs vocalist, Juka, left the band on 24 April 2005. The release of Beyond the Gate saw that the band had a replacement vocalist named Seth. Their support bassist and drummer, Kazuno and Tohru also left after the album was released.

Thoughts
It is expected that Moi dix Mois is the heavier version of Malice Mizer. I would not regard them as a metal band as they donft sound metal at all although Mana is trying to bring them to that direction after listening to Beyond the Gate album. If you are a first time listener of Moi dix Mois, I recommend you to listen to Dialogue Symphonie, their very debut single, as it is very easy on the ears. I prefer Juka over Seth on vocals, though. Other songs that you should listen to would be Pessimiste and Unmoved. Maybe Solitude would remind you of Malice Mizer.
