In 2006, they had a major breakthrough with the song "Kibun Jojo", which was featured as the ending theme for the variety program Sukibara, music.jps commercial theme, and the featured song in a commercial for "Paltry". They began to gain more exposure because of this, and on May 5 of that year they performed on Music Station and were featured on the cover of "Young Guns" magazine. "Kibun Jojo" jumped to #7 on the Oricon charts because of their appearance in these mediums. Since then, their popularity has been on the rise, with "Itsumademo Hibiku Kono Melody/Magical Speaker" going as high as #3 on the charts, making it the highest-charting single of their career thus far. Their song "H.P.S.J." was featured as the third ending theme for the anime Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, and "Kibun Jojo" being used in a few ryhtym action games. Their highest-charting album to date is THE BEST of mihimaru GT, topping the Oricon Top 200 Weekly charts at #1 in May of 2007.
Unlike other groups, mihimaru GT will often perform songs with only one member (ex. "Negai"). However, both Hiroko and Miyake are involved in the construction their songs, primarily with Hiroko forming the melody and Miyake providing the rap portions.
In May of 2007, Miyake announced that he had gotten married to an office worker in November of 2006. He decided to wait to make the announcement, while Hiroko also confessed that while she saw no plans for marriage in her immediate future, she claimed to be a victim of "unrequited love".
