Profile
MELT-BANANA first began to take shape in the early 90s when four college buddies, Yasuko, Agata, Rika, and Toshiaki Sudoh (as drummer) got together to make crazy music. Initially, however, Yasuko had started out with a different bassist and drummer and had first dubbed the band MIZU, but after both bassist and drummer left, Rika and Sudoh joined, the band was renamed, and things began to take off.
Their first album, titled "Speak Squeak Creak", was released in September of 1994. Since then, the band has released approximately 8 albums and many singles and EPs. In 1997, Sudoh left M-B, leaving the band to start having temporary drummers for specific tours and studio recordings.
M-B are still active these days and tour the U.S. yearly. Their most recent work includes a song they wrote and performed for the Cartoon Network show "Perfect Hair Forever", which is in their Adult Swim line-up.

Thoughts
Um, to say the least, you better be really hyper before you listen to MELT-BANANA. This band literally sounds like they have too much caffine in their system or something. The music and vocals sound like they are being played at two times normal playing speed. Its really weird and really annoying actually.
