Formed from three of the ex-members of The Vermin in Germany in 1996, synthpop/futurepop band Melotron have had great success from their first single "Dein Meister", which they released in 1998. Since then, they’ve toured all over the world in places such as Germany, Russia, the US, Hungary, Argentia and Israel and have released six albums and 13 singles.

Their most recent album, "Propaganda", which was released in 2007, was their first album to have a song with English lyrics ("Broken"), with the rest of their lyrics being completely in German. The single "Das Herz" was also taken from this album.

Thoughts

Melotron have a great combination melodies and beats and Andy Krueger’s voice is very distinctive and smooth. I like the fact that almost all of their lyrics are in German, because it works really well with this type of music. Apart from sounding great, their lyrics are also really interesting as well. If you like bands like Depeche Mode, you’ll probably like Melotron, though Melotron are perhaps a bit darker on some songs. Definitely worth listening to.
