Mayday (also known as Wu Yue Tian) is a Taiwanese rock band that originated in 1998. They are now one of the biggest rock bands in Taiwan. In 1999 their popular single, Peter and Mary boosted their popularity. Later that year on the 28th of August they played at the Taipei Sports Complex stage for a concert. Their popularity spread to other countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

In 2001, vocalist Ashin, guitarist Monster, and bassist Masa were called up to serve military dutty. Ashin and Monster returned after a short while due to health problems, while Masa stayed in the military. While they waited for Masa to return, they began Ashin and Monster to study US and British music seperately.

In August 2003, Masa returned. The band held a reunion concert at the Taipei Sports Complex (the same place where they performed their first concert). Over 40,000 fans attended the concert!

Thoughts

Mayday is an excellent band. The vocals are great and their music has a lot of energy. A lot of their songs are also very easy to sing along with. I highly recommend this band!
