LOVE PSYCHEDELICO is a Japanese band with fame in both Taiwan and Japan. The band was formed in 1997 by singer Kumi (born 11 April 1976 in Chiba Prefecture) and guitarist Naoki Sato (born 21 July 1973 in Shizuoka Prefecture). They were signed to a contract in 1999.

Their first album, The Greatest Hits, sold over two million copies.Their second album, named Love Psychedelic Orchestra, sold 90,000 copies. Since then, they have released two albums, Love Psychedelico III and Early Times.

Both members have cited the Beatles and Led Zeppelin as influences so its not surprising for them to have a British sound. Kumi's lyrics mix English and Japanese, something not uncommon BUT significant amounts of the English lyrics are comprehensible and well-crafted, rather than simply employing a few catch phrases as so many J-pop idols tend to do.

Thoughts

Love Psychedelico is well, psychedelic hehe ;) Honestly now hehe, the band has a interesting 60s/70s feel to it. Kumi has a fairly high pitched voice that contrasts Naoki's background melodies. Their music is old fashioned and very similar to The Beatles. Nostalgic '69 really gives off a 70s like feeling. Enjoy the samples below :)
