Profile
Limited Express (has gone?) formed in 1998 at their university in the Kansai region, known for producing bands such as Boredoms and Shonen Knife. After so many gigs around the area they started to play at festivals such as Kuishinbou Banzai and Borofesta in Kyoto. They got a lot of playing time on college radio stations and had a pretty good following. In 2003, renowned Jazz musician John Zorn liked their demo and they released their first album, Feed You, on his label, Tzadik. Great reviews and a tour of 9 cities followed and they ended up playing at the largest Asian Rock festival, Fuji Rock festival.
In March of 2004 they got to play at SXSW in Austin, Texas, one of the biggest Rock festivals in North America that showcases independent artists. Later that same year they had a small tour across Australia and New Zealand. In 2005 they got to tour in Korea, a rare feat for many Japanese artists, and released their second album, Makes You Dance.

Thoughts
Limited Express (has gone?) produces experimental pop and rock songs. In many of their songs, their instruments will repeat certain rhythms several times before moving the song along. Yukari also has a very unique approach to the vocals, speaking the lyrics or contorting her voice to make unique sounds. She reminds me a lot of Miho Hatori. Its not my cup of tea but perhaps it will be yours.
