Lareine is a visual kei band, known for their elaborate costumes and dramatic stories said to be sung in each of their songs. Created in 1994, by the lead vocalist and guitarist, they did not experience their first live concert until the following year after accumulating three more members.Releasing their first few songs in 1996 and continuing until 1997, touring live houses in 1998, it wasn’t until 2000 when their first album was released. But sadly, that very same year, three members left on various reasons. Kamijo, the lead vocalist didn’t want to give up and tried doing solo songs. But eventually he put the band on hold.
In 2002, the band had a "return" of sorts when they all participated in creating an album, with the only new difference being a new drummer. In 2006 Kazumi left the band, and afterwards, MAYU disappeared. Kamijo and Emiru announced the official disbandment of LAREINE in February 18, 2007, with the release of their last single "Last Song" and best album. Kamijo is currently managing other bands through his label Artist-Society as well as his new band, Versailles. Emiru changed his name to RUN and he is now in a band named Anubis.
