Profile
The band started when Koji and Levin, classmates in high school, met and formed a band. At first, Levin was the vocalist, but eventually became the drummer. After two years of performances (small gigs), they decided to change their look a little by dying their hair and adding various accessories, but they are still not yet visual kei. After graduation, they searched for new members and they eventually found Shuse and Hiro. Taka, now accepted into Tokyo U., hears Hiros copy of the band and decides to join as well. How they developed their taste in music is the fact they all decided to live in one apartment for a time, and here they were able to mix and match their favorite music and mesh it together.
In 1993, the band Strippe-D was formed. The next year, the bassist (Kita) leaves and Taka renamed the group to LaCryma Christi.

Thoughts
Although many people assume they are heavy metal, they are not metal at all. Much like Dir En Grey, although not as popular per ce, they mix the typical visual kei style of sound with a coupling of yelling and screaming and really fast, hard drums. Although the vocalist may be talented, he is also very generic, as is their sound. But that is not to say they are bad! If you like Dir En Grey, Machine, Gazette, Madeth Grayll, etc, you will love them!
