Profile

Kra is a Japanese Oshare Kei rock band formed in August 2001. They are one of the well known bands that are signed under PS Company, which also has other popular Visual Kei artists and bands such as Kagrra, alice nine, the Gazette and Miyavi, under them. They consist of Keiyuu on vocals, Mai on guitars, Yura on bass and Yasuno on drums.

The band had their first release of their demo tape titled, Brise, on May 18, 2002. They released another demo, Hard Lolita, on November 3, the same year and signed under PS Company same month. Despite starting out in 2001, Kra’s popularity increased tremendously only in December 2005 after their Peace & Smile Tour Final.

Kra debuted as a major band on September 21, 2006, releasing Heart Balance single.

Thoughts

Well, for now, I’m not really an avid fan of Kra but I think this band is quite good and has potential. They reminds me of Kagrra,. Most of their songs are quite easy to listen to. If you are a first time listener to Kra, then you might want to try listening to Artman. Their recent album, dharEma, is a good album to start of with. I’ll definitely recommend this especially to those who loves Kagrra, and other Visual Kei bands.
