Profile
Kou Shibasaki, whose real name is Yukie Yamamura, was born in Toshima, Tokyo, on August 5, 1981. She is a singer and an actress. A star agent discovered her when she was 14 and she worked in many television shows and commercials since.
She became more famous for her role in Battle Royale in 2000. She started her career as a singer in 2002, releasing her first single, Trust My Feelings. But she was only recognized with her second single, Tsuki no Shizuku, which was used for the Korean movie, Yomigaeri. She also starred in the movie, playing Rui, together with Tsuyoshi Kusanagi of SMAP. The song was one of the best J-Pop hits in 2003.
Her sophomore album turned out to be quite a disappointment compared to her first album. It stayed for only nine weeks and was at the peak at #5 on the Oricon charts.

My Thoughts
Kou Shibasaki is quite a good singer! She has a very nice voice and tends to sing upbeat pop songs. Definitely check her out!
