Hizaki Grace Project is the solo project of Hizaki, ex guitarist for Crack Brain, Schwardix Marvally and SULFURIC ACID. He changed his solo project name from Hizaki, to Hizaki grace project after finding stable members.

The band began in April 2006 with the release of the song "Race Wish" in the compilation CD "Graceful Playboys" with Hizaki on guitar, Yuu (ex-Jakura) on bass, and Hikaru (Izabel Varosa) on vocal. In August of the same year, Hizaki Grace Project was featured in the coupling CD "-unique-" with the band +ISOLATION. It featured the tracks Solitude and cradle (instrumental).

After this, Hizaki grace project announced their new line up containing TERU (ex ~Aikaryu~) on guitar, Mikage (ex-Babylon) on drums, and replacing Hikaru, (ex-Moi dix Mois) Juka on vocal. This caused a lot of commotion and won many Moi dix Mois fans to Hizaki’s band. With the line up, the band release the song "cradle" with Juka’s voice in the coupling CD "SUMMIT 03".

Hizaki Grace Project release their first full length album on January 1st, 2007, title "Dignity of Crest", featuring 11 tracks, which included Mizerable and Ritual from his solo project. On May 9, the band released the live DVD called "Moshou" from their on February 27, Meguro Rock May Kan under Kamijo’s label, Artist Society. Soon fallowed the album "Ruined Kingdom", featuring 3 new track (1 debuted in Moshou) and 7 live tracks from Meguro Rock May Kan. The band will release a new CD in November 28, with 5 new instrumental songs.

While the band is still active, the member are involve in other projects. Hizaki and Kamijo (ex LAREINE), together with TERU and Yuu, who changed his name to Jasmine You, formed the band Versailles; while Juka launched his solo career with the help of Hizaki and Kamijo, under Artist Society.

Thoughts

I love Hizaki grace project. Hizaki’s music hold a level of classical music with a strong hold on guitar. Juka’s voice ads a greater dept of symphony and at times even relates a soprano, which is great in this case. This is one of those bands that you just have to love. In a few songs, Juka’s has a growling death voice that may be annoying and overpowering, but suits the music wonderfully. If you love Malice Mizer or Schwardix Marvally, please take time to listen to this band. You won’t be disappointed.
