Born July 18, 1962 in Tokyo Japan, "Miss Metal" Hamada Mari known in the 1980’s as the queen of heavy metal got her start in music in 1983.With record breaking hits including her first in 1989 and a two day live at Nihon Budokan, changing times ment a change musically for Hamada who adopted a more commercialized music style that bands such as Heart and Journey conveyed.
In the early 1990’s her focus turned to the music markets of Europe and Asia where she promoted heavily.
Hamada went on to be one of the best-selling female singers in Japan.

Thoughts
Many fans of 1980 and early 1990’s music will appreciate Hamada Mari. Her music was in many ways what started a revolution of pop music, and led to great bands in the 1990’s like Every Little Thing and Zard. Although a bit commercial, her music was quite catchy and I definitely recommend her if you enjoy older jpop bands.Click to read/add your opinion!
