Guitar Wolf was founded in 1987. They are known to have piercing vocals and loud garage punk styles. They devised the phase "Jett Rock ‘n’ Roll" and uses the term to describe their style of music which is somewhat a cross between classic punk, screaming and noise rock.The original line up of the band was Seiji (Guitar Wolf), Billy (Bass Wolf) and Toru (Drum Wolf). It was reported that Billy passed away on March 31, 2005 in Tokyo. He was suspected to have died from a heart attack after he came off from the last leg of their US tour. U.G played his first show with the band as the new bassist in September 2005.
The band is often compared to other Japanese bands but they have achieved the cult status that other bands did not. Guitar Wolf have influence the revival of punk rock in Japan.

Guitar Wolf is a pretty good rock band. Their vocalist has a great deep voice that adds a roughness to their music. The band also tends to stick to their classic rock roots. Overall they are fairly good, but I was a bit disappointed by the guitars. If you name the band Guitar Wolf, then guitars should be a important part of your music.
