Guitar Vader are a Japanese pop rock band. Though the band is not well known their music is through its inclusion in video games such as Jet Set Radio. In 1998 the band formed with Ujuan, Miki and Takumiya. Together they released a 2 tape set album DIE HAPPY the following year. In 2000, the band released the album WILD AT HONEY. Unfortunately, that same year the band's drummer Takumiya left. Although he was no longer part of the band, he continued to partially participate with the song NEW CHAPPIE and some compilation CDs. In 2001, some of Guitar Vaders songs are used in the Dreamcast Game JET SET RADIO,m ROOM MANIA (SEGA). Guitar Vader released a Remixes GVR album to match the game’s releases. That same year, the full album From Dusk is released. A new drummer SUZUKI also joins the band.

In 2003, Guitar Vader established their own self label called "PLUGS HOUSE". The band released another album titled Dawn in July. In November, they then recieved a chance to tour in England which was hosted by "pixelsurgeon". By 2004, another album was on the way. Guitar Vader recruited Steve Laity for live supporting keyboards.

Guitar Vader is a classic rock band that seems to have a secret underground reputation. One cool thing about this band is that their female and male vocalists will sing together and switch off singing in their songs. The guy vocalist has a very deep voice. The female vocalist, on the other hand, has a really high voice almost similar to Puffy Amiyumi. Its a really interesting mix. Despite their name, the main focus of this band are the vocals not the guitars. Their melodies are somewhat simplistic and basic, but the combination of the vocals really adds something unique to their songs. Below are some songs you can sample. Enjoy :)
