Profile

Frou Frou, consisting of Guy Sigsworth and Imogen Heap, was first conceived when the two met in 1998. Though at the time Heap was in another band, these two collaborated to create a few songs together but never officially formed a new group.

Still keeping in contact, though, when the two faced record problems with their respective bands a few years later, they decided to again come together to create music. After their first session was a success, they continued to meet up until they both decided to officially pair up in 2001, releasing their first full album in Japan. They officially signed with a UK label and US label in 2002.

Their music is said to feature a mix of electronica, rock and pop.

Frou Frou officially disbanded in 2003 and there is no word of them coming back together.

Thoughts

Frou Frou’s music is very subtle, quiet, and gentle. Their vocalist has a deep, simplistic voice that makes you feel relaxed. Sometimes their music is so peaceful that it is hard to identify the choruses. Definitely check them out.
