Favorite Blue is a popular Japanese music duo which consisted of Matsuzaki Maya on vocals and the band’s lyricist and Kimura Takashi on guitars and the band’s producer, composer and arranger. Maya was born on February 24, 1971 and Kimura, on January 25, 1968.The band had their debut single, Ai Yori Mo Hageshiku, Dare Yori Mo Itoshiku, on June 12, 1996. Their debut album, Dreams & Memories were released on February 5, 1997. Their releases were so popular that several were featured on different shows. Close My Love became the closing theme for TBS’s show CDTV. Let Me Go! was the ending theme for the anime Dr. Slump and Solitude was used on TBS’s show Shumatsu Kon. Truth of Love and Pride-Close to You were featured on TV commercials!
They had their final single, a remix of Snowball Falling on My Head, released on January 26, 2000. After the band had their final release, Kimura became a full time producer of MOVE while Maya left the recording company and formed Mamy Drop.

Thoughts
Favorite Blue used to be one of my favorite bands! They were spectacular....and much more so than even Every Little Thing at the time! It really is a shame that they did break up. Their music had very catchy melodies, and usually tended to be upbeat. Maya had a great voice as well! I highly recommend this band if you love pop bands.Click to read/add your opinion!
