Fake? is a fairly new band to come around the j-rock scene. The group consists of Ken Lloyd (former lead vocal of Oblivion Dust) and Inoran (former guitarist of Luna Sea). With the combination of Ken as vocals and Inoran on the guitar, it's a great band just oozing with talent.Word on the street is if you heard to Fake?’s music for the first time and you know no Japanese at all, you might mistake them for a random American/European band. They mix in some electronic-ish sounds and the lead singer speaks very good english.
The two released their first single, "Taste Maximum", early 2002 and an album a couple of months later titled "Breath In". In less than three years, the band has produced three full length albums! (Breath In, Tomorrow Today, and The Art of Losing Touch) And also a mini-album (New Skin).
On October 31, 2005, Inoran left FAKE?, citing musical differences with Ken Lloyd. However, this does not mark the end of FAKE?, as Ken Lloyd hinted at a live that a new album is in the works and might be out around Spring 2006.
Though Fake? is somtimes called a "pop band", they have some rockish feel to their songs.

My Thoughts
Fake? is a great rock band! Ken has a deep, heavy voice that really suits this genre. In several ways this band reminds me a bit of American bands. They use a lot of English in their songs, and their melodies have a western feel to them. I think you will really enjoy this band! Enjoy the samples :)akfgfan
