Profile
In 1988, childhood friends Hisashi and Atsuya formed Eastern Youth, with the initial focus of making it into a punk band. After moving to Tokyo in the 90s, heavy metal guitarist Tomokazu agreed to become their bassist, and their focus changed to a more indie style. After playing at numerous lives (including headlining for popular American bands such as Jimmy Eat World and At the Drive-In) and releasing many singles and albums, Eastern Youth has gained an immense reputation as being one of the top emo/indie-rock bands in Japan.

Thoughts
Eastern Youth is an okay punk band. Yoshino has great, deep vocals that really stand out. I think my one complaint with this band is that their background music is just average. Its not always exciting, new or unique.
