Profile
Earthshaker is what you would call a traditional heavy metal band that eventually turned popular. That means they went to appease the greater public, not just the underground metal scene and, sadly, eventually lost their heavy metal feel and turned into pop rock.
Even so, Earthshaker was one of several 80s Japanese metal bands with a similar style (meaning, at least a passing resemblance to Loudness). The debut album was one of the best Japanese metal albums of the era, but the band steered toward a poppier sound on later albums and dropped from worldwide view, preferring to record and tour in their home country. After a successful run, they broke up in 1994, but returned five years later and are still going strong today. Remarkably, the original quartet from the first album are still together.

My Thoughts
Earthshaker is a great pop rock band. Their background music has that classic rock feel to it. Its a bit generic, but Masafumi Nishidas voice really brings out their music. You definitely need to check them out!
